Open Havelock is conceived as a community project. It secured substantial grant funding for the capital works and a 5-year fully subsidised lease from the Council to operate. The project is not-for-profit but aims to recover running costs. Minimal charges will apply to one off/regular hire of the multipurpose room and community kitchen and to the licenses for single use spaces such as the playrooms, leisure store units and workshop units.
